The total of more than 5 millions ROTAX® engines for various applications have been produced up to now.
Since beginning in 1982 up to present, more than 100.000 ROTAX® AIRCRAFT ENGINES (2- and 4- stroke) have been produced.

A brief history of ROTAX® :

  • 1920 ROTAX® WERK AG is established in Dresden, Germany.

  • 1943 Operations are located to Wels, Austria.

  • 1947 ROTAX® Werk AG moves to its present location in Gunskirchen.

  • 1962 For the first time a ROTAX® engine is installed in a snowmobile.

  • 1982 Start of production of ROTAX® AIRCRAFT ENGINES.

  • 1989 Type Certificate of the aircraft engine ROTAX® 912 A (81 HP) to JAR-22

  • 1990 National Production Organisation Approval awarded by the Austrian Aviation Authority

  • 1994 Type Certificate of the aircraft engine ROTAX® 912 F (81 HP) to FAR-33

  • 1996 Type Certificate of the aircraft engine ROTAX® 914 F (115 HP) to FAR-33

  • 1998 Type Certificate of the aircraft engine ROTAX® 912 S (100 HP) to FAR-33
