The production

The manufacturing of DUC FC propellers answers the strictest industry standards, including the use of a unique production tool specially built to ensure you the highest quality.

All along the maufactuuring process, from the shaping of Rohacell to the packaging, each part is controlled several times.

BLADES:
Everything starts with the shaping, with special templates, of the Rohacell which will become the kernel of the blade. By successive shapings on templates, the foam block will be cut to the approximative final shape of the kernel.

Once the required dimensions are reached, the foam will be precisely heathed, then set into thermoshaping molds, heathed as well (therefore avoiding any thermal shock that would reduce the blade's life) on the production machine. From that moment, the programming of the machine takes over, and as long as the set conditions of heath, pressure and cooling are not met, the kernel of the blade will stay in the mold.

The different layers of preimpregned nappa carbon (industrial, so as to ensure quality on a long term basis) will then be draped around the kernel with very precice angles, as this ensures the mechanical functions of the finished blade.

The foot of the blade - in anodized aluminium - is then added using an exclusive method ensuring that it will never break free.

Back to the production machine for the lengthiest operation, fully automated, consisting in forging the blade by a combination of heath and high pressure (see: The Technic) which warrant for the unique homegeneousness of this product.

For information, this electro-oleo-pneumatic forging press gives a 75 tons pressure from above, 25 tons from below, and 5 tons from the side. The various molds are directly cut from a block of special high resistance steel, including the the fluids circuits.

The full automation of all critical operations allow to ensure both the blades' as well as the overall production's homogeneity along the time.

Sorties du moule, les pales seront alors équilibrées statiquement. Cette opération est essentielle, une différence de quelques grammes influant sur la durée de vie de l'ensemble moteur / réducteur / hélice.Cet équilibrage est vérifié par sondage sur un banc d'équilibrage dynamique permettant de visualiser les efforts subits par le support de l'hélice, et mettant en évidence les éventuelles différences dans l'homogénéité de la production.


HUBS:
With the same forged carbon method, half-hubs are only made of preimpregned nappa carbon. This gives the hub mechanical caracteristics and life expectation far above that of steel.

This production, where all critical operations are fully automated, is your warranty in tems of security and life expectation of your DUC FC propeller.
